Todd-Veredus Asset Management LLC (“TVAM”) has its roots in two Louisville, Kentucky, based firms; Todd Investment Advisors, Inc. (“Todd”), founded in 1967, and Veredus Asset Management LLC (“Veredus”), founded in 1998.
Todd was founded by Bosworth Todd in 1967, and operated as a subsidiary of the Boston Company until 1979. Todd’s partners purchased the firm from the Boston Company in 1979 and operated as an independent investment advisor. In December 1993, Todd became a wholly owned subsidiary of Stifel Financial Corporation of St. Louis. In April 1999, Todd was acquired by Fort Washington Investment Advisors, Inc. (“Fort Washington”).
Veredus was formed as a registered investment advisor on June 1, 1998. Previously, the firm’s principals were with SMC Capital. B. Anthony Weber, Veredus’ President and Chief Investment Officer, was President and Senior Portfolio Manager at SMC. Weber brought the investment team at SMC to Veredus intact.
On May 1, 2009, through a series of transactions, Veredus combined with Todd, in which Veredus acquired substantially all of the assets and identified liabilities of Todd in exchange for equity units of Veredus. Veredus then changed its name to Todd-Veredus Asset Management LLC.
TVAM will continue to offer the same products that each individual firm offered prior to the combination, managed by the same investment professionals implementing the same philosophy and process. Several advantageous synergies were attained in the combination, primarily relating to marketing and administration.
